Beyond the Abstract Class

Back in my studio, I tried the process again. From the contour drawings that we did in class and colored with watercolors, I chose one I wanted to pursue.

This began with a bowl of fruit. When you draw contour, you put the pen or pencil on the paper and keep it moving usually looking at the subject rather than the paper. This gives shapes and connections that could prove interesting.

As instructed by Larry Moore, we turned the drawings in different directions and the fruit now looked like a Native American subject.  So I decided to take it to the 24" square canvas.
