The challenge and variety of watercolor painting techniques.
After 30 years as a Food Consultant specializing in food styling for photography, I exchanged my tools for artist brushes when we retired and moved from Chicago to St. Simon's Island, Georgia. I enjoy the challenge and variety of watercolor painting techniques and have been inspired creatively by mixed media abstract studies. Often preparing backgrounds in advance, I find that subjects and scenes evolve.
Having studied with several art teachers locally in Georgia, I am especially thankful to Betty Caldwell who erased all fears of watercolor, Bob Fisher and Lynn St. Clair who broadened my base as a watercolor artist and Linda Wunder and Ella Cart for their guidance and critiques as I expanded into mixed media.
